Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project-specific Safety and Emergency Plans and programs.
• Conduct Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) orientations for newly hired project employees.
• Review method statements to ensure adherence during task execution.
• Oversee HSE compliance during all site setup activities.
• Lead safety toolbox talks, HSE awareness initiatives, and training sessions.
• Investigate incidents and apply corrective measures.
• Organize and conduct site emergency drills.
• Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and recommend control measures to eliminate or mitigate risks.
• Review and enforce compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Ensure proper material handling and storage practices are followed.
• Prepare and disseminate project-specific HSE lesson learnt reports.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled site inspections to detect hazards and verify control implementations.
• Develop and execute traffic management plans at work sites.
• Monitor waste management procedures and enforce safe disposal in line with safety plans.
• Ensure adherence to work permits for hazardous activities when required.
• Perform HSE audits and analyze trends related to subcontractor performance.
• Manage the performance and effectiveness of team members regardless of reporting structure.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Degree or diploma in Safety Management or related field.
• Possession of NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely, or OSHA certification.
• At least three years of relevant HSE experience in a similar scale operation.
• Experience working in the Middle East region is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in English, with Arabic language skills preferred.
• Strong analytical capabilities and effective problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in conducting construction site HSE inspections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in data and record management.
• Familiarity with international HSE standards and regulations.
• Collaborative team player with a robust work ethic focused on delivering results.
