Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-specific Safety and Emergency Plans and programs.
- Conduct Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) orientations for newly hired project employees.
- Review method statements to ensure adherence during task execution.
- Oversee HSE compliance during all site setup activities.
- Lead safety toolbox talks, HSE awareness initiatives, and training sessions.
- Investigate incidents and apply corrective measures.
- Organize and conduct site emergency drills.
- Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and recommend control measures to eliminate or mitigate risks.
- Review and enforce compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Ensure proper material handling and storage practices are followed.
- Prepare and disseminate project-specific HSE lesson learnt reports.
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled site inspections to detect hazards and verify control implementations.
- Develop and execute traffic management plans at work sites.
- Monitor waste management procedures and enforce safe disposal in line with safety plans.
- Ensure adherence to work permits for hazardous activities when required.
- Perform HSE audits and analyze trends related to subcontractor performance.
- Manage the performance and effectiveness of team members regardless of reporting structure.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Degree or diploma in Safety Management or related field.
- Possession of NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely, or OSHA certification.
- At least three years of relevant HSE experience in a similar scale operation.
- Experience working in the Middle East region is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in English, with Arabic language skills preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities and effective problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting construction site HSE inspections.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent in data and record management.
- Familiarity with international HSE standards and regulations.
- Collaborative team player with a robust work ethic focused on delivering results.
