Role Overview
This position is for an HR Recruiter within the oil and gas industry, supporting the Human Resources function in Abu Dhabi. The role is focused on attracting, screening, and hiring qualified talent for both technical and specialized positions, while also helping strengthen the company’s employer brand and long-term hiring pipeline.
Core Responsibilities
- Create and run recruitment plans that help fill vacancies efficiently and with the right-fit candidates.
- Identify potential hires through job portals, social platforms, networking contacts, referrals, and recruitment agencies.
- Work with department leaders to clarify manpower needs and specific job expectations.
- Prepare accurate, engaging job descriptions and publish them on suitable channels.
- Review applications, carry out initial phone interviews, and narrow down the candidate list.
- Arrange and participate in interviews, including technical evaluations relevant to oil and gas roles.
- Support employer branding efforts through social media initiatives, career fairs, job events, and university engagement.
- Represent the organization at industry gatherings and recruitment events to help attract strong candidates.
- Maintain a ready talent pool for future hiring, especially for niche positions in the oil and gas sector.
- Make sure hiring activities follow labor regulations and internal company policies.
- Keep complete and current records of interviews, assessments, and recruitment decisions.
- Coordinate with HR colleagues on onboarding, training, and retention-related initiatives.
- Partner with management to anticipate future hiring needs and align recruitment plans with business priorities.
- Use applicant tracking systems and related HR tools to improve the speed and quality of hiring.
- Track recruitment data, prepare reports, and share hiring metrics with stakeholders.
- Suggest process improvements based on analysis of recruitment performance and trends.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
- Professional HR certifications such as SHRM or CIPD are considered an advantage.
- Prior recruitment experience of 3 to 5 years is preferred, ideally in oil and gas or the wider energy sector.
- Demonstrated success in hiring for technical and specialist positions is important.
Additional Requirements
- Working knowledge of oil and gas roles such as engineers, geologists, project managers, and field technicians is needed.
- Understanding of sector-specific safety standards and compliance expectations is expected.
- The role may require occasional travel for hiring events or site visits.
