About The Role

This position oversees daily human resources operations, employee relations, and compliance procedures to provide a consistent and high-quality experience for all employees across Evlo AI. It involves close collaboration with department leaders and the people team to establish scalable HR initiatives, manage benefits, administer onboarding and offboarding, and guarantee compliance with labor laws across multiple jurisdictions in a remote-first setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete employee onboarding and offboarding lifecycle, partnering with IT, payroll, and hiring managers to ensure a smooth process.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, 401(k), leave policies, and open enrollment, acting as the main point of contact for related questions.
  • Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws by keeping accurate digital records and leading regular HR audits.
  • Collaborate with managers to address sensitive employee relations matters by conducting impartial investigations and advising on performance management strategies.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of HRIS data through routine audits, record updates, and generating reports on headcount, turnover, and employee engagement for senior leadership.
  • Create, revise, and enforce company policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures to support organizational growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Between 3 to 6 years experience as an HR Generalist or in HR Operations, preferably in a rapidly growing technology or remote-first company.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws across multiple states, including California, Washington, and New York.
  • Proficiency using modern HRIS systems such as Rippling, BambooHR, or Workday, along with payroll platforms.
  • Exceptional discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to explain complex policies clearly to employees.
  • Preferred: certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR and experience supporting fully remote teams.
