About The Role
Join Churches of Christ in Queensland as a Housing Officer located on Bribie Island, contributing to our mission of providing safe and secure housing to build stronger communities. Your role involves managing community housing properties while supporting tenants to maintain successful tenancies, all within a value-driven and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of community housing properties effectively.
- Provide tenant support to sustain successful tenancies.
- Conduct property inspections and coordinate timely maintenance activities.
- Handle rent accounts, tenancy agreements, and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
- Address tenancy-related issues professionally, empathetically, and fairly.
- Maintain detailed records and promote high-quality service delivery.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV qualification in Social Housing, Community Services, or commensurate experience.
- Background in tenancy management, property management, or community services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s Licence.
- Competency with computers and Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate level.
- Current or willingness to obtain National Police Check and Blue Card.
- Strong commitment to respectful, person-centered service provision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with social and community housing programs.
- Awareness of challenges faced by individuals experiencing housing stress, homelessness, or disabilities.
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.
