Role Overview
The Housekeeping Supervisor at Our Habitas Ras Abrouq will lead daily housekeeping operations to ensure outstanding cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort throughout the resort. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager or Executive Housekeeper, this role involves managing the housekeeping team, daily work allocation, auditing guest and public areas, and meeting rigorous cleanliness standards in a luxury, remote setting.
Key Duties
- Direct and manage daily housekeeping tasks and staff assignments.
- Assign rooms and public space cleaning duties to attendants to optimize efficiency.
- Carry out thorough inspections of guest rooms, villas, public areas, and back-of-house locations to verify cleanliness and presentation meet established standards.
- Ensure timely room readiness according to resort occupancy and operational needs.
- Keep housekeeping practices aligned with brand expectations and quality protocols.
- Provide mentorship and support to enhance team performance and service delivery.
- Perform routine quality audits and promptly address any deficiencies.
- Liaise with Front Office concerning room updates, guest arrivals and departures, VIP services, and special needs.
- Collaborate with Engineering to identify and resolve maintenance issues within rooms and public areas.
- Respond effectively to guest housekeeping requests, ensuring satisfactory outcomes.
- Manage and safeguard guest belongings, lost and found items, and other housekeeping protocols accurately.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, linens, uniforms, and equipment, ensuring availability and proper use.
- Adhere to safety standards in the handling and storage of chemicals and housekeeping tools.
- Maintain comprehensive records including checklists, room statuses, and housekeeping reports.
- Assist with onboarding and training new housekeeping personnel.
- Comply with health, hygiene, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support deep-cleaning and preventive maintenance efforts and manage special cleaning projects as needed.
- Prepare rooms and facilities for VIP guests, special occasions, and events.
- Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and grooming within the housekeeping team.
- Encourage a positive, team-oriented atmosphere amongst housekeeping staff.
- Carry out additional housekeeping duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two to three years of housekeeping experience, preferably in leadership roles within luxury hotels or resorts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of luxury housekeeping standards, guest service principles, and cleanliness.
- Proven ability to supervise teams and organize daily room cleaning schedules.
- Exceptional attention to detail ensuring high levels of cleanliness and presentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a guest-centered approach.
- Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS), ideally Opera Cloud or similar platforms.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving capabilities to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Competency in conducting inspections and effecting timely corrections.
- Collaboration skills for seamless coordination between Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and other departments.
- Leadership qualities to motivate, coach, and develop team members effectively.
- Knowledge of housekeeping chemicals, equipment, linen logistics, and safety protocols.
- Positive, proactive, adaptable mindset with a hands-on approach and strong accountability.
- English fluency in speech and writing; additional language skills advantageous.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays at the remote resort location.
