About the Role

SWOT Hospitality is seeking a Hostess in Jeddah to warmly welcome guests, manage reservations, and coordinate seating arrangements, ensuring a seamless and pleasant dining experience. The position demands excellent communication, organizational aptitude, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patrons upon their arrival at the restaurant.
• Provide accurate wait times and maintain waiting lists effectively.
• Escort guests to their designated dining or bar tables.
• Distribute menus, answer initial inquiries, and introduce the assigned wait staff.
• Keep the reception area tidy and inviting.
• Attend specially to guests needing extra care, such as children and the elderly.
• Handle phone calls by booking reservations and responding to queries.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service teams as necessary.
• Allocate seating preferences while balancing table occupancy for equitable workload among servers.
• Engage with guests to confirm their satisfaction with food and services.
• Address customer complaints professionally and aid in resolving issues.
• Maintain comprehensive menu knowledge.
• Support other restaurant roles as required.
• Cater to special guest requests attentively throughout their dining experience.
• Enforce sanitation, safety, and alcohol regulations to protect guests and premises.
• Assist with dining room duties including setting and clearing tables, refilling water, and serving beverages.
• Verify orders, calculate taxes, and process bills for to-go customers.
• Contribute positively to team objectives by accomplishing related tasks.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in a hostess or host role within a restaurant environment.
• Understanding of dining etiquette and familiarity with health and safety protocols.
• Proven ability to handle reservations and deliver excellent customer service.
• Outstanding verbal communication skills both in person and over the phone.
• High patience level coupled with attentive listening capabilities.
• Strong organizational skills to oversee overall bar and dining floor operations.
• Physical fitness to endure prolonged periods of walking and standing.
• Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Minimum education level of a high school diploma or equivalent; further qualifications are advantageous.
• Knowledge of a second language is a bonus.
• Basic facility with mathematics and computer use.
• Capability to perform well in fast-paced settings while maintaining high-quality customer service.
• Positive demeanor and ability to collaborate effectively with restaurant staff under pressure.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Receptive to feedback, willing to seek clarification when needed.
