Position Overview
Tether and its affiliates seek an experienced, proactive professional to lead regulatory affairs and licensing activities across the Middle East region. This role requires deep knowledge of crypto-asset and stablecoin regulatory landscapes in the region, combined with a capacity for engaging regulatory bodies, navigating legal complexities, and driving favorable outcomes aligned with company strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and analyze regulatory changes affecting the company and affiliates in the Middle East.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with policymakers, regulators, central banks, and financial intelligence units.
- Represent the organization in industry discussions, consultations, and regulatory events.
- Develop regulatory submissions, briefing documents, and comment letters consistent with global compliance frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to influence emerging regulatory frameworks innovatively yet cautiously.
- Conduct thorough assessments regarding licensing and registration requirements for regional operations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and local advisors to secure necessary regulatory authorizations.
- Advise senior leadership on regulatory challenges and opportunities pertaining to new product launches and market expansions.
- Contribute to internal reporting and provide executive insights on regional regulatory landscapes.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years experience in government affairs, regulatory affairs, or legal roles within financial services or the crypto-asset sector in the Middle East.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing regulatory affairs teams with a record of securing beneficial regulatory outcomes.
- Proven expertise engaging with government and regulatory bodies to advocate policy positions and influence decision-making.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, capable of distilling complex regulatory information for diverse audiences.
- Proficient at managing relationships and tasks across international time zones and varied stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork orientation and an ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
