About the Role
The Head of Programs and Business Transformation leads the Americas Programs division, spearheading strategic transformation initiatives across SDI. This executive position collaborates closely with the President and Leadership Team to identify, prioritize, and drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, organizational effectiveness, customer satisfaction, profitability, and growth. The role ensures the successful delivery and governance of programs while fostering sustainable improvements across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Programs team to ensure the right talent, structure, and succession plans support business goals.
- Maintain rigorous project management disciplines throughout the organization.
- Partner with management to align goals, implement best practices, and drive continuous process improvements.
- Act as the executive sponsor for enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on operational excellence and strategic growth.
- Collaborate with leadership to define and execute the transformation roadmap aligned to business objectives.
- Identify and eliminate organizational impediments to execution, accountability, and performance.
- Lead change management efforts to support adoption of new processes, structures, and capabilities.
- Establish governance frameworks, success metrics, and executive reporting for transformation outcomes.
- Drive program portfolio governance, overseeing schedules, budgets, risks, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Work alongside Finance, Sales, Operations, and Technology teams for effective portfolio execution and monitoring.
- Lead portfolio reviews to assess progress, mitigate risks, and apply corrective actions.
- Mentor program managers, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage key proposal development and negotiate contractual details with customers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee project kick-offs, stakeholder management, change management, risk mitigation, and contract closure.
- Manage financial aspects of programs including revenue recognition and reporting.
- Ensure smooth transition of completed projects to service operations.
- Enable effective governance and customer engagement to support business growth, innovation, and financial performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or related discipline required.
- Experience managing profit and loss or business units is highly desirable.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Proven track record leading complex programs and enterprise transformation initiatives within matrixed organizations.
- Experience managing portfolios or lines of business with end-to-end responsibility and demonstrated business success.
- Deep knowledge of project/program management best practices, financial and risk management.
- Collaboration experience with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, commercial, and service sectors.
- Background in technology, manufacturing, engineering, or defense environments is advantageous.

- Responsible for priority-setting, resource allocation, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic initiatives and portfolios.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, risk mitigation, and proactive issue resolution while escalating when needed.
