Role overview
University Hospitals Tees is looking for a driven people specialist to join its People Directorate and contribute to a major organisational redesign programme. The group brings together North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a significant transformation initiative aimed at improving healthcare across the Tees Valley, County Durham and North Yorkshire, with the goal of delivering better outcomes for patients and the wider community.
In this position, you will work within the People Directorate, supporting the People Project Lead and collaborating with UHT clinical boards, senior clinicians and operational leaders to help deliver the people programme successfully.
What the role involves
- Helping design a strong and ambitious people change programme, using knowledge of people policy and project delivery.
- Building and maintaining trusted working relationships with important stakeholders across UHT.
- Questioning assumptions and preferred approaches to keep the transformation moving at the required pace and ambition.
- Creating and sustaining effective ways to plan, coordinate, monitor and deliver the people workstreams linked to the UHT strategy, making sure outputs meet agreed standards and deadlines.
- Tracking progress, identifying risks and escalating issues when needed.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will be a self-directed and experienced people professional with a background in change management, relevant policy and process, and supporting transformation work. You will assist the Group People Change Management Lead and provide advice and guidance to stakeholders across the UHT Group.
Leadership and improvement training
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides leadership and improvement development for all new staff. The programme is intended to strengthen leadership and management capability.
You will be expected to attend six and a half days of training, including:
- Your Leadership Impact
- Leading your Team to Success
- Leading Into the Future
- Service Improvement for Beginners
- Developing your Service Improvement Skills
- Lean Practitioner
The programme is designed to help staff understand leadership in the NHS, reinforce Trust values and behaviours, improve leadership effectiveness, and give employees the skills and knowledge needed to lead service improvements within their role.
After completing the initial six and a half days, additional leadership and improvement learning opportunities may be available. The Trust also offers a mix of internal and external courses and short bite-sized development programmes through its Leadership and Improvement Team.
