Job description
Overview
This leadership role involves managing quality operations within the manufacturing unit at JSW MG Motor India Pvt Ltd, Halol. The position demands close supervision of safety protocols, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure product excellence and factory efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sustain safety awareness among Junior Engineers and Associates.
- Assist Engineers in addressing safety concerns and SOT observations promptly.
- Identify training requirements, regularly review skill matrices, and monitor training completion against plans.
- Motivate team members to propose and implement Kaizen activities and process enhancements.
- Oversee adherence to all quality standards and procedural requirements.
- Evaluate and review key quality documents such as JES, SOS, SOP, KYT, STS, TIS, and PPSR.
- Manage tool, equipment, and facility needs including calibration schedules monthly.
- Conduct scheduled layered audits, ensure closure of audit points, and provide guidance for audit improvements.
- Lead resolution efforts for TCF and CARE Line quality issues collaboratively.
- Head the 5F cross-functional team to address daily operational issues.
- Participate in daily PQA meetings, enforce corrective actions on recurring issues, and review Engineers’ yellow card reports.
- Lead one problem-solving initiative each month.
- Drive preparations and readiness for new product launches according to the launch timeline.
- Ensure implementation of MGPS standards across shop floors.
- Monitor and control factory supplies and manage rejection costs alongside Engineers.
- Compile daily quality update reports in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Support motivational activities and quality competitions within the team.
- Conduct daily reviews of yard Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) issues, addressing defects identified with the team.
- Prepare yard PDI reports for Quality Review Meetings (QRM).
- Escalate alarms to appropriate departments promptly.
- Approve or reject Engineering Work Orders (EWO) or Production Test Requests (PTR) changes.
