Role Overview
The Financial Analyst is vital in supporting comprehensive analysis of key performance indicators and monthly financial reports. Collaborating with the Finance, Accounting, and other departments, this role involves analyzing data, recognizing trends, and generating actionable insights based on monthly financial statements. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the analyst will work closely with Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the development of monthly reporting materials for leadership and board members.
- Manage the monthly financial reports presented to Operations and regional teams.
- Analyze and communicate primary factors influencing financial result variations to assist strategic decisions.
- Promote ongoing automation of financial reporting and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in financial planning company-wide.
- Create financial models that analyze business trends and past results to uncover opportunities for profit maximization through revenue growth and cost reductions.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities by collaborating with Operations and Finance to understand key drivers, assumptions, and related factors; identify strategic risks and opportunities.
- Support the development and tracking of new and existing KPI analytics.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Advanced analytical capabilities with expertise in financial modeling, data interpretation, insight generation, and solution design.
- Demonstrated adaptability and a strong work ethic, capable of independent function and teamwork.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
- Adept at working in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
Educational and Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
- At least two years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience within the veterinary field, multi-site healthcare environments, and familiarity with NetSuite and PowerBI is preferred.
Additional Role Information
- Minimal or no travel is expected, as this is a remote position.
- The annual compensation ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience, plus a discretionary 10% yearly bonus.
