Finance Analyst

Role overview

This position sits at the centre of the financial and operational work for venture capital funds in Berlin. The Finance Analyst will help improve how the finance team operates by redesigning processes and systems with AI tools to make the work faster and more effective.

The role covers financial analysis, investor reporting, coordination with outside fund administrators, support for fund accounting and treasury activities, and monitoring reporting and compliance obligations. You will work directly with the Chief Financial Officer, VP Finance & Investor Relations, and Senior Finance Manager as the finance function continues to expand its scope and influence.

Financial analysis

• Assist with analysis of portfolio companies and funds, including cap table work, waterfall modelling, and benchmarking to generate strategic insights.
• Use AI tools to speed up and support data analysis work.

Investor relations

• Act as one of the main contacts for fund investors, responding to questions and sharing regular updates.
• Help prepare and send capital call notices, distribution notices, and quarterly investor reports.
• Maintain investor records and support adherence to investor agreements.

Fund administration

• Work alongside external fund administration providers to keep fund operations running smoothly.
• Support fund operations such as fund formation, onboarding new investments, and organising fund-related documentation.
• Manage fund management software providers to help deliver a strong investor experience.
• Use AI-assisted tools to reduce manual effort in document handling, data extraction, and administration workflows.

Fund accounting and treasury

• Help verify that fund transaction records supplied by administrators are accurate, including investments, capital calls, distributions, and fees.
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting for fund investors.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax specialists for audits and tax filings.
• Support payments and cash management for the funds.

Reporting and compliance

• Contribute to the preparation and filing of required regulatory reports and disclosures.
• Work with legal and compliance teams to keep fund documents current and aligned with applicable regulations.

Candidate profile

The role is suited to someone with relevant finance experience in venture capital or private equity, along with a solid grasp of venture capital fund finance and operations. A strong interest in using AI tools, excellent attention to detail, and clear communication skills are important.
