Position Overview
The Field Activity Support Team (FAST) Member role involves traveling to various store locations within a designated district to independently manage and complete tasks such as planograms, merchandise and fixture assembly, and signage upkeep. This position requires direct interaction with both customers and internal team members, aiming to deliver an outstanding customer experience that exemplifies our Legendary Customer Service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance with availability for varied shifts including days, nights, and overtime as necessary.
- Communicate regularly and proactively with the District FAST Supervisor regarding task progress, challenges, and propose solutions.
- Efficiently execute planograms and store resets with high accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure adherence to visual merchandising standards throughout assigned stores.
- Measure store-specific layouts and complete related initiatives.
- Perform accurate inventory cycle counts and participate in the Tractor Way top cap process.
- Install and maintain store signage as required.
- Assemble merchandise displays, fixtures, and promotional display quantities (PDQs).
- Conduct detailed recovery and verify planogram integrity continuously.
- Deliver Legendary Customer Service by greeting customers, identifying their needs, recommending solutions, adding value, and ensuring a superior shopping experience.
- Provide additional coverage during peak periods, such as post-Thanksgiving.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Previous retail or merchandising experience is mandatory.
- Familiarity with farming, ranching, pet/equine care, or welding is advantageous.
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not obligatory.
- Effective reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflicts ethically and effectively.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Work environment is mostly indoors with moderate noise levels.
- Shifts can last between 4 to more than 10 hours, varying by store location.
- Frequent travel between stores using personal vehicle, sometimes involving extended periods on the road.
- Must comply with company safety practices and foster a safe workspace for colleagues and customers.
- Typical flooring includes concrete and asphalt with adequate lighting and temperature controls.
- Physical activities include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching overhead, climbing ladders, and operating various store equipment like forklifts (if age-appropriate), dollies, hand trucks, and registers.
- Ability to move merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds using proper equipment.
- Mental and physical stamina to navigate store and outdoor areas safely for the entire shift.
- Exposure to birds/poultry as part of store operations.
- This is an active, non-sedentary position requiring continuous movement.
