About Penhouse Design
Penhouse Design is a collective of senior designers based in a countryside studio located in County Laois, Ireland, approximately one hour from Dublin. Established in 1996, the team is known for delivering meaningful and lasting design solutions, client-focused marketing strategies, and fostering long-term client partnerships. Their work spans public and private sectors, earning multiple national and international awards that reflect their dedication to originality and quality.
Role Overview
We are seeking a creative, communicative designer to join our small, close-knit studio team onsite five days a week. This role demands sharp creativity, keen attention to color, typography, and illustration style. Responsibilities include a diverse mix of tasks such as strategic branding, creating print-ready artwork, and digital file production for various clients, often under tight deadlines. The position requires managing several projects simultaneously while contributing valuable ideas within the studio environment.
Skills and Experience Required
- Formal degree in Visual Communications or a related field with at least five years of design studio experience.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, primarily Illustrator and InDesign, alongside other relevant design software.
- Passion for designing new brand identities, packaging, and publications.
- Expertise in print design fundamentals along with competence in digital media design including preparation of production-ready files.
- Excellent creative typography and layout skills with an emphasis on accessibility in design, especially for governmental projects.
- Ability to think conceptually, generating innovative ideas from complex briefs and delivering strategic, detailed, and creative design solutions.
