About the Role

As an Environmental Digital Engineer at AWS Environmental in Dublin, you'll play a crucial part in managing and developing technology to support environmental initiatives within AWS's global data center infrastructure. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver and optimize digital tools that track, analyze, and improve environmental compliance and risk management for AWS facilities. This position demands both strategic and hands-on contributions, including the design of advanced analytics systems, predictive models, and integration with EHS software. Commitment to diversity, constant improvement, and delivering scalable solutions is fundamental to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pioneer advancements in environmental due diligence, permitting, and risk tracking through comprehensive digital solutions integrated with existing internal systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain analytics models to assess and predict environmental performance, transforming raw compliance data into actionable business insights via dashboards and data pipelines.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of technology solutions, ensuring seamless connection with environmental health and safety (EHS) software systems.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to interpret business needs and deliver practical digital outcomes, optimizing processes for reporting and compliance automation using tools like Smartsheet.
  • Champion process improvements and the scaling of digital tools to benefit all stakeholders, fostering both innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Play an active role in team mentorship, recruitment, and shaping an inclusive organizational culture that values diversity and equity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the realm of environmental health & safety software development, implementation, or analytics (excluding internships).
  • At least one year of hands-on work with statistical analysis and a year of automated reporting development.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, including Tableau or AWS Quicksight, as well as experience in predictive modeling and advanced analytics.
  • Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle—covering design, development, testing, deployment, and timeline management.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory environmental compliance requirements and hands-on experience with EHS software platforms (e.g., Enablon, Cority, Intelex).

Perks & Benefits

  • Opportunities for career advancement and structured mentorship within AWS’s inclusive work environment.
  • Work-life harmony is a core value, with flexibility to balance personal and professional commitments.
  • Access to a diverse culture promoting continual learning, including employee affinity groups and internal conferences on race, gender, and inclusion.
  • Participation in AWS’s mission to operate using 100% renewable energy by 2025 and reach net zero carbon emissions by 2040.
