Role Overview
We are seeking an early-career Simulation Software Engineer to become a key member of our dynamic and expanding engineering team. In this capacity, you'll contribute directly to our simulation engine that validates the automation and manual operation of critical hardware. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise at the convergence of software development, physics, and safety-critical technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust, high-performance simulation software.
- Support and enhance the frameworks used for setting up and running simulations.
- Liaise with users of the simulation tools to incorporate new features and models.
- Collaborate closely with compiler engineers, frontend developers, and product teams to integrate simulation within the larger Revel system.
- Engage in code reviews and strive for continuous engineering process improvements.
- Address technical challenges in simulation under senior engineer supervision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic proficiency in C++ and/or Rust, or a strong willingness to quickly develop these skills.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices including testing and peer code review.
- Academic or practical knowledge of physics and applied math, especially thermodynamics or fluid dynamics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience or exposure to TypeScript and/or Python programming languages.
- Knowledge of numerical methods or differential equations from academic work or personal projects.
- Interest in developing software for safety- or mission-critical environments.
- Prior experience with simulation, modeling, or software related to physical systems is highly advantageous.
ITAR Compliance
Applicants must comply with U.S. export regulations by being either a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident (green card holder), a refugee as defined under 8 U.S.C. 1157, an asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or be eligible to secure necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
