Engineer - Specialty Systems (Nationals only)

Job Overview

This position is responsible for managing the operation and upkeep of Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems and Pneumatic Tube Systems (PTS) within a healthcare environment. The role involves delivering corrective maintenance, collaborating on Permit-to-Work authorizations, supervising contractors, and assisting with emergency responses. Cross-training enables coverage for other engineering roles as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage AGV and Pneumatic Tube Systems.
• Enhance and monitor performance of both AGV and PT systems.
• Supervise completion of planned and emergency maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records for AGV and PT systems.
• Provide recommendations for system configurations and improvements.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development for both systems.
• Plan, assign, and approve tasks conducted by contractors and vendors.
• Approve maintenance schedules for preventive and corrective work.
• Handle requests from end-users and staff effectively.
• Lead all permit-to-work processes related to facility operations.
• Ensure contractors comply with organizational standards.
• Offer supervision during projects ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Participate in emergency response operations as required.
• Support regulatory and licensure surveys by providing necessary documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare settings.
