Role Purpose

The Hook-up Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer will report to the Hook-up Manager and participate in various company projects within the Hook-up Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all engineering activities associated with Hook-up E&I.
  • Provide Hook-up expertise during bid preparation, project kickoff phases at Home Office and Yard, and offshore execution.
  • Ensure seamless interaction with fabrication yards and Transportation & Installation (T&I) teams for defining scope and managing carry-over tasks to guarantee safe, efficient, and cost-effective offshore operations.
  • Devise engineering solutions to optimize transportation and installation configurations using available marine resources, reduce offshore Hook-ups, and enhance construction sequences and methods.
  • Contribute Hook-up E&I inputs for engineering reviews such as Constructability, 3D Model Evaluations, and Hazard Identification (HAZID).
  • Prepare and execute Hook-up engineering steps, including scope identification, Hook-up procedure creation, and discipline Work Package compilation.
  • Conduct technical tasks related to drawings, Material Take Offs (MTOs), job cards, constructability evaluations, and engineering studies.
  • Coordinate with the Hook-up Planning and Control Analyst to align Hook-up Job Cards with construction, installation, and commissioning schedules.
  • Assist in developing multi-disciplinary Hook-up procedures.
  • Manage the Hook-up project deliverables list, ensuring documents are appropriately prepared, reviewed, and issued.
  • Define subcontract work scopes and contribute to technical bid evaluations related to Hook-up activities.
  • Specify marine spread requirements and oversee relevant bid processes.
  • Ensure the marine spread is scheduled in a cost-effective, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Conduct vessel suitability surveys to confirm safe and efficient support of Hook-up tasks, guaranteeing continuous offshore manpower and materials supply.
  • Maintain proper coordination with other project functions during Hook-up engineering processes.
  • Collect red marked-up engineering documentation onsite to support As-Built drawing development.
  • Support the Hook-up Manager by monitoring Hook-up engineering activities across Home Office, Yard, and Site, including updating Job Cards as needed.
  • Supervise analyses concerning Welding, Piping, Coating, and Quality Control to ensure application of special requirements prior to offshore campaigns.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess an Engineering Degree, ideally in Electrical & Instrumentation or a related discipline.
  • Have at least 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas as a Hook-up Engineer E&I.
  • Demonstrated expertise supporting Hook-up operations during bidding, engineering, yard work, and offshore phases.
  • Experienced in liaising with fabrication yards, T&I contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Knowledgeable about offshore construction, Hook-up methodologies, and full EPCI project delivery.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, and capable of working efficiently in international project teams.
  • Understand Hook-up E&I engineering concepts and offshore construction procedures.
  • Skilled in creating and reviewing Hook-up procedures, Work Packages, MTOs, and Job Cards.
  • Comprehend marine spread logistics and offshore installation challenges.
  • Aware of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, offshore execution risks, and quality control requirements.
  • Adept in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel for tracking and planning, Word for technical documentation, PowerPoint for reporting, and Outlook for communication and coordination.
