Role Overview
The Emergency Services Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring emergency preparedness and maintaining a proficient emergency response team to protect people, equipment, and operations. Working collaboratively with Safety, Training, Health, Security, and Emergency Response units, this role entails leading emergency readiness efforts across the site, delivering tailored training programs, maintaining critical equipment, leading emergency drills, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage emergency preparedness initiatives throughout the operation.
- Design, implement, and conduct training programs for the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Organize and oversee emergency exercises, evacuations, and drills to ensure readiness.
- Maintain and ensure operational readiness of emergency vehicles and response gear.
- Contribute to emergency management planning and maintain site readiness.
- Review and update rescue plans associated with high-risk tasks.
- Enhance team skills through coaching, mentoring, and training delivery.
- Collaborate closely with operational leaders and external emergency services to uphold best practices in emergency management.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in mine rescue, emergency services, or industrial emergency response.
- Strong leadership capabilities coupled with effective communication skills.
- Proven ability to train and mentor emergency response teams.
- Capability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Dedicated to safety and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Mine Rescue, particularly underground modules considered advantageous.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
- Possession of a valid manual driver's license.
- Prior work experience within mining or heavy industry sectors.
