Role Summary

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Mumbai. This role involves detailed work on electrical design, including power and control systems, with opportunities to work on site installations and commissioning. The candidate will collaborate globally and contribute to engineering projects in various industrial domains.

Core Responsibilities

Perform power and load calculations for electrical equipment.
Design PLC cabinets and field wiring using E-Plan software.
Create electrical layouts employing AutoCAD software.
Select and order appropriate electrical components based on project needs.
Coordinate and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and electrical testing such as Megger and High Voltage tests.
Configure hardware and drives, conduct I/O testing on site, and supervise installation of electrical components during commissioning.
Maintain communication and collaboration with project teams and suppliers worldwide.
Plan and control assigned scope of work throughout the project lifecycle.
Travel to various sites as required to support installations and commissioning activities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering disciplines.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and E-Plan 5/P8 software tools.
Strong understanding of power and control systems, including experience with electrical cabinets and field devices such as sensors and actuators.
Capability to specify Siemens PLC hardware and knowledge of communication protocols: Profibus, Profinet, TCP/IP, Serial, and ASi networks.
Ability to produce detailed electrical drawings, power and cable calculations, tray systems design, bills of materials, and power distribution planning.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within teams, displaying ownership and drive for success.
Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.

Additional Skills

Ability to specify and oversee the procurement of field wiring materials at project sites.
Experience with electro-mechanical installation supervision and commissioning at sites.
Familiarity with the material handling industry is advantageous.
Effective at building professional relationships with international project counterparts.
