Role Overview
The Ecommerce Analyst will spearhead analytics and marketplace operations for a leading retail brand. This role involves designing a robust ecommerce analytics framework, managing marketplace presence, and driving commercial strategy with deep analytical insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive ecommerce analytics system including KPI setting, data classification, and regular reporting mechanisms.
- Create dashboards and automated reports to monitor sales metrics such as GMV, conversion rates, average order value, customer acquisition cost, traffic quality, sales funnel efficiency, and customer lifetime value.
- Conduct detailed evaluations of website performance, product discovery journeys, checkout processes, and marketing campaign effectiveness.
- Convert analytical findings into strategic, actionable recommendations for marketing, procurement, and merchandising divisions.
- Lead performance review meetings on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis with senior leadership.
- Establish and expand the company’s marketplace footprint on platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, and Tata Cliq.
- Oversee marketplace operations encompassing seller onboarding, catalog synchronization, pricing strategies, promotional activities, SLA adherence, and health metrics of sellers.
- Set and monitor marketplace-specific KPIs such as sell-through rates, Buy Box win percentages, returns, listing quality, and customer ratings and reviews.
- Collaborate with buying and brand teams to align product assortments by platform, season, and target segments.
- Manage marketplace advertising initiatives including Sponsored Ads, Brand Stores, and A+ content, ensuring spending aligns with ROI targets.
- Forge and sustain partnerships with marketplace account managers to enhance business outcomes.
- Scout and pilot new marketplace opportunities to foster growth.
- Perform competitive analysis on pricing, promotions, product mixes, and digital strategies among marketplace competitors.
- Advise pricing strategies ensuring alignment with brand positioning, competitive environment, and profitability goals.
- Execute customer segmentation and cohort analysis to tailor campaigns and boost customer retention.
- Collaborate with CRM and marketing teams to optimize acquisition funnels and repeat purchase rates.
- Lead and mentor a small team, defining objectives and supporting professional development.
- Serve as the analytics and marketplace expert, empowering business teams to make data-driven decisions.
- Partner with marketing, category, supply chain, and finance departments to ensure data integrity and business coherence.
- Contribute actively to ecommerce and marketplace annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Between 5 and 6 years of practical experience in ecommerce analytics, digital retail, or marketplace management.
- Demonstrated track record managing operations on at least two marketplaces such as Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub, Myntra Partner Portal, or Nykaa Seller Panel.
- Proficiency with web analytics tools like GA4, Adobe Analytics, or Mixpanel.
- Expertise in dashboard creation using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Strong grasp of ecommerce profit and loss statements, margins, and commercial levers.
- Excellent communicative competence with the ability to present findings clearly to both business units and senior leaders.
- Management or mentorship experience with small teams.
- Desired experience in fashion, beauty, or lifestyle ecommerce sectors.
- Knowledge of marketplace advertising systems, such as Amazon Ads or Flipkart Ads.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R for advanced data analytics.
- Exposure to customer data platforms including CDP and CRM systems.
- Experience in startup or fast-growing digital commerce environments advantageous.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in any field is required.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business Analytics or Digital Marketing is considered a plus.
