Role Overview

The Director of Operations & Process Excellence is a senior leadership position within the Business Improvement Office, charged with setting and executing strategic directions and driving performance for the TMS Business Unit. This role involves defining operational strategies and portfolios aligned with the organization's goals and growth ambitions. Serving as a key consultant to business and executive leadership, the director facilitates cross-functional collaboration and ensures disciplined execution of initiatives that significantly influence company results.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and establish the operational strategy and long-range plan for the TMS Business Unit in line with corporate priorities.
• Lead comprehensive annual and multi-year strategic planning to clarify priorities, focus investments, and ensure measurable results.
• Advise senior business and executive leaders on strategy, growth initiatives, and transformation plans.
• Oversee the assessment and prioritization of strategic investments, including partnerships and mergers & acquisitions.
• Deliver forward-looking insights on performance, market trends, and competition at the enterprise level.
• Manage the complete portfolio of strategic initiatives, maintaining governance, prioritization, resource allocation, and tracking value realization.
• Implement governance structures and decision-making frameworks to promote accountability and execution rigor for all initiatives.
• Facilitate executive reporting on portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide executive-level advisory support to guide impactful decisions and lead critical organizational forums.
• Champion cross-functional collaboration across departments such as Development, Sales, Finance, and IT to ensure unified strategy execution.
• Address complex interdependencies and organizational challenges to maintain momentum on key initiatives.
• Establish best-practice frameworks, tools, and operating models to enhance strategy execution and portfolio management.
• Drive ongoing improvement and transformation efforts to boost operational scalability, efficiency, and overall performance.
• Cultivate and lead high-performing teams by developing strategic, analytical, and execution proficiencies throughout the organization.
• Promote a culture focused on accountability, performance excellence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Life Sciences, or related disciplines is required; a master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Operations, or Health Management is preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years' experience in analytical, strategy, operations, project management, or business improvement roles.
• Demonstrated capability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment involving multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proven experience managing numerous complex initiatives and coordinating work across diverse teams.
• Advanced analytical and financial skills, including proficiency with MS Office tools for synthesizing data into executive summaries.
• Experience performing primary and secondary research, data analysis, and documentation to support decision-making and operational enhancements.
• Strong ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and effectively influence organizational outcomes.
• Preferred experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or medical technology sectors.
• Background in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or internal advisory roles is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25-30% of the time.
