Role Overview
The Director of Business Development will take charge of cultivating and expanding a robust pipeline of location-based digital marketing opportunities, primarily targeting enterprise-level clients throughout Germany. This position focuses on enhancing the company's new client portfolio by spearheading enterprise lead generation efforts and growing business relationships using an established network of contacts.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement a proactive, outbound sales approach to secure meetings with senior executives including CMOs, CEOs, and Marketing Heads.
- Create and manage targeted prospect databases using Apollo, execute multi-step outreach campaigns via Lemlist, and monitor sales progress through HubSpot.
- Design compelling outbound communication sequences that clearly highlight DAC’s distinctive value propositions.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through contract finalization.
- Collaborate across departments with Account Directors, Paid Media, SEO, and Strategy experts to scope and develop comprehensive proposals.
- Maintain detailed and accurate sales pipeline records within HubSpot, providing forecasts and performance reports to leadership.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to enhance outreach strategies and reveal new business opportunities.
- Act as a representative for DAC Group Germany at industry conferences, webinars, and events.
- Offer strategic insights to leadership regarding positioning, messaging, and market approach improvements.
- Identify and pursue cross-selling and upselling potential within emerging client relationships.
- Contribute to refining sales playbooks, scripts, and campaign strategies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Sales Development Representatives when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience in business development or B2B sales, particularly within digital marketing.
- In-depth knowledge of Local SEO, Paid Media, Content Marketing, Analytics, and AI-powered marketing tools.
- Proven track record in outbound sales environments.
- Hands-on experience using Lemlist, Apollo, and HubSpot CRM platforms.
- Excellent skills in building relationships, negotiating contracts, and delivering presentations.
- Capability to translate complex digital marketing solutions into clear, customer-focused value statements.
- Experience navigating lengthy, consultative sales processes.
- Strong organizational skills with reliable CRM management and sales forecasting capabilities.
- Effective at segmenting, prioritizing, and constructing targeted prospect lists.
- Commercially driven mindset aiming for measurable business results.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous for the DACH market.
- Strong collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced agency environment.
