About the Organization

Position Summary

The Development Assistant contributes to fundraising and donor engagement efforts across a 32-county area for both ABLE and LAWO. Working collaboratively with the development and finance teams, this role ensures precise donor database management, prompt processing and acknowledgment of donations, and efficient coordination of fundraising campaigns and events. This position is essential in enhancing donor relations and supporting the organizations' financial growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and update the donor database (Raiser’s Edge), maintaining accurate donor information, tracking donations, and generating reports.
  • Handle donation processing and produce acknowledgments following organizational and IRS guidelines.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to aid in financial reporting and reconciliation.
  • Manage direct mail and electronic fundraising campaigns, including list management and donor communications.
  • Support the planning and implementation of fundraising events and other development activities.
  • Assist Regional Development Directors with scheduling, communications, meeting arrangements, and logistical support.
  • Prepare donor materials such as acknowledgment letters, funding proposals, and progress reports.
  • Analyze donor giving patterns and report findings to development leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to donor recognition policies and gift acceptance standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent mandatory; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in administrative support, customer service, or data entry required.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational ability, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
