Role Overview
BlueScope Distribution, ASP seeks a Delivery and Optimisation Manager for our National Supply Chain team. This permanent, full-time position can be based in Granville (Sydney), Brisbane (Northgate or Eagle Farm), Melbourne (Clayton South), or Newcastle (Tomago). Distribution, ASP combines BlueScope Distribution, Orrcon Steel Distribution, Metalcorp, and Impact Steel under one leadership team. Together, these form one of Australia's biggest steel and aluminium distribution networks with 31 sites across metropolitan and regional areas, serving customers' product, processing, and solution requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead transformation and process improvement initiatives across BlueScope Distribution and allied supply chain functions.
- Conduct workshops and collaborative sessions to identify opportunities to improve planning, scheduling, order fulfillment, production, and supply chain workflows.
- Analyze and streamline cross-functional operations to enhance efficiency, reduce duplication, and eliminate pain points.
- Partner with in-house specialists to support SAP, workflow, and business systems enhancements.
- Manage a portfolio of improvement projects ensuring clear objectives and measurable business benefits.
- Assist teams in adopting new ways of working by embedding change, building capabilities, and driving uptake.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is curious and improvement-oriented, excels in communication and facilitation, and can build trust to influence and unite stakeholders to resolve challenges. Candidates may come from project management, business analysis, customer experience, operations, supply chain, or continuous improvement backgrounds, or any sector where they have led change and elevated performance.
You should enjoy challenging existing processes, crafting practical solutions, simplifying complexity, fostering collaborations, and delivering sustainable change.
Key Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated success in spearheading improvement, transformation, digital, business system, or project initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and influence skills.
- Ability to facilitate discussions that identify opportunities and prompt action.
- Structured problem-solving and delivery approach.
- Comfort with ambiguity and guiding others through change.
Exposure to SAP, ERP systems, or formal project management methods is a plus but not mandatory.
