About the Role
As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco in Dudley, you will be the friendly face customers see when their online shopping arrives. This position involves more than just driving; it's about providing excellent service and support directly to customers. The job is hands-on, physically active, and offers a dynamic work environment where no two shifts are alike. You'll mainly work independently on the road, supported by a team of managers and colleagues at the base.
Key Duties
- Maintain your delivery van, trays, and work environment in a clean and organized manner to ensure the customer receives their groceries in perfect condition.
- Safely load the van and perform all necessary checks to guarantee it is roadworthy and dependable for deliveries.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with customers regarding any order adjustments, substitutions, or short-dated items, offering refunds when necessary to keep the experience positive and smooth.
- Handle all products carefully, treating each order as if it were your own to uphold quality and trust.
- Deliver orders within scheduled time slots, providing warm and natural service at the customer's doorstep, leaving them feeling valued.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Build strong relationships within the team to promote a positive spirit and deliver excellent customer service.
- Be friendly and welcoming towards customers and colleagues alike.
- Adapt swiftly to changing customer demands and embrace variations in your route or work environment.
- Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
