Custodian

Role Overview

The Custodian is tasked with ensuring thorough cleanliness and sanitation across all designated locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute janitorial tasks and adhere strictly to the daily work schedule.
• Handle hazardous waste duties including collection, classification, sorting, storage, labeling, transport, cleaning, recycling, and packaging.
• Operate motorized cleaning machinery proficiently and maintain upkeep of assigned areas daily.
• Report any incidents or unsafe conditions promptly to supervisors.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures and discourage risky behaviors among oneself and colleagues.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment and adapt by performing repetitive tasks as required.
• Maintain a tidy workspace and support shift leads by completing assigned punch-list items and filling in during staffing shortages.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and present a professional demeanor at all times.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customers, ensuring strong customer service and satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills

• No formal education is required; however, 3-6 months of relevant training or experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license may be necessary; forklift certification requirements may apply.
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
• Proficient reading and interpretation of instructions, procedures, and manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with cleaning techniques, equipment operation, maintenance, and the safe and efficient use of cleaning chemicals.

Physical and Work Environment

• Physical requirements involve frequent sitting, talking, and listening, with the ability to lift or move items up to 35 pounds.
• Work occurs Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with additional weekend hours as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
