Role Overview
This leadership position, reporting to the Shared Services Manager, involves managing daily credit control and accounts receivable operations while guiding a team of Credit Controllers and Accounts Receivable Administrators. The role combines team leadership, credit risk oversight, stakeholder collaboration, and process optimization. Key objectives include ensuring effective collection practices, reducing commercial risk, nurturing customer relations, and improving functional efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the credit and receivables team.
- Spearhead collection efforts to guarantee receivables are collected within agreed terms.
- Manage complex, high-value, and priority customer accounts.
- Evaluate credit applications, set credit limits, and define trading terms.
- Supervise and mitigate credit risks across the customer portfolio.
- Maintain PPSR registrations and assist with insolvency and recovery proceedings.
- Coordinate with collection agencies, liquidators, and external parties as needed.
- Prepare receivables reports, aging analyses, and management insights.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and aid audit processes.
- Lead credit-related projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement performance metrics and reporting systems.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Preferably hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience of 3+ years in credit control and accounts receivable within a large or complex organization.
- Strong expertise in credit management, debt collections, risk evaluation, and receivables workflows.
- Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities.
- Experience with enterprise-scale ERP software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX or equivalent.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement and process enhancement.
- Attention to detail combined with strong commercial instincts.
- Ability to coach, influence, and develop team members to meet operational goals.
Familiarity with the construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
