Credit Analyst

About the Role

UniCredit's New York office invites applications for an experienced Credit Analyst to join the Business Credit Analysis team. This position offers comprehensive exposure to a variety of corporate lending and financing transactions. The role entails conducting detailed credit evaluations, assisting with structuring deals, and overseeing a diverse portfolio of corporate clients. You will collaborate closely with senior bankers, product teams, risk managers, and colleagues across Europe on complex credit assignments involving large corporations and multinational enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth credit analyses of corporate customers, including examination of financial statements, cash flow, industry conditions, competitive benchmarks, and risk factors
• Develop and maintain five-year integrated financial and cash flow projection models to evaluate liquidity, debt servicing ability, leverage, and stress scenarios
• Draft credit proposals, annual reviews, amendments, and waivers for approval committees internally
• Review transaction structures, term sheets, and financing documents to identify critical risk elements and structural issues
• Monitor an assigned portfolio to detect emerging credit risks, rating changes, and recommend mitigation strategies
• Perform continual industry and market research to understand sector trends, competitive landscape, and macroeconomic impacts on credit quality
• Work closely with coverage bankers and product specialists to assess new lending and financing opportunities
• Prepare clear and concise credit recommendations and present them to senior management and credit committees
• Explore and adopt technology and data-focused solutions to improve credit analysis efficiency, such as AI, automation tools, and enhanced reporting

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis within commercial or investment banks or financial institutions
• Solid foundation in accounting principles, financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, cash flow analysis, and corporate finance concepts
• Advanced skills in financial modeling, including creating and interpreting forecasts, leverage analysis, liquidity assessments, and stress tests
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related area; advanced credentials like MBA, CFA, or formal credit certifications preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, or similar platforms
• Experience with data analytics and automation tools such as Power BI, Python, and Power Automate is a strong advantage
• Excellent analytical thinking, writing, and presentation capabilities coupled with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities under pressure
• Collaborative, proactive mindset with meticulous attention to detail and sound professional judgment
