Key duties
- Operate the GCA scanner for all required activities during the route, including scanning waybills and barcoded labels.
- Complete deliveries for all assigned freight in the route area while following customer and company requirements.
- Collect all scheduled customer pick-ups according to DHL and customer guidelines.
- Confirm that customers have a valid account before carrying out a delivery or pick-up.
- Prepare and submit accurate route documentation every day.
- Report route exceptions and notable competitor activity to DHL.
- Handle heavyweight deliveries, either personally or by arranging a third-party provider when needed to meet service standards.
- Maintain strong internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Represent DHL professionally at all times, including vehicle, uniform, and shipment documentation presentation.
- Help improve customer perception and satisfaction with service quality.
- Ensure shipments are picked up and delivered on time.
- Work effectively with customer service and operations colleagues.
- Inform the Sales team about potential business opportunities or service risks.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to manage several tasks at once.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- High school education.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence held for more than 18 months, with a clean driving record.
- Current driver’s abstract with no infractions.
- Capability to lift up to 70 lbs without assistance.
