Construction Project Manager

Overview

In the role of Construction Project Manager, you will oversee and execute construction projects from initiation to completion. You will collaborate extensively with the design team, subcontractors, and various stakeholders to ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and specifications. Your technical knowledge, organizational aptitude, and communication skills will be essential to coordinate and facilitate all construction phases effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor site operations and inspections to guarantee compliance with safety and quality standards, enforcing contractors’ Quality Control procedures and supporting internal Quality Assurance and commissioning of MEP systems.
• Resolve design conflicts swiftly by collaborating with the design team. Conduct field verifications to compare existing conditions with contract documents and address potential issues proactively.
• Oversee project expenditures by comparing actual costs versus budget, while identifying opportunities for savings. Manage RFI generation, review, and submission processes.
• Review and track contractor invoices. Manage and enforce the overall project schedule using project documents, tracking deviations from the baseline and reporting discrepancies. Familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is required.
• Handle project buy-outs by preparing bid packages, coordinating with procurement to request proposals, drafting contracts and scopes of work, and issuing work orders. Lead weekly progress meetings to assess scope gaps, risks, objectives, and recovery strategies.
• Prioritize multiple project objectives, adjusting tasks as necessary to meet critical deadlines.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, local laws, industry codes, and safety protocols. Coordinate communication between contractors, design/engineering teams, and QA/commissioning personnel.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related experience.
• Have experience directing multi-discipline projects encompassing architectural, structural, and MEP components throughout all construction phases.
• Minimum of four years in commercial construction, project management, or engineering roles.
• Background in managing projects specifically within large manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Solid understanding of construction practices, applicable codes, regulations, and safety measures.
• Skilled in reading, interpreting, and applying contract documentation and specifications.
