MoveSmart Rentals is a technology-enabled full-service leasing partner dedicated to helping landlords lease properties faster, minimize vacancy periods, and screen all applicants effectively. They syndicate listings to MLS and over 20 platforms, managing all steps from listing to move-in.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-focused Cleaner to service residential rental units. The role involves performing move-in/move-out cleans, rental turnover cleaning, and preparing properties to be listing-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend rental properties for cleaning appointments including move-in/move-out and turnover cleans
- Conduct comprehensive residential cleaning according to company standards
- Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living spaces, hallways, appliances, floors, surfaces, cabinets, and fixtures thoroughly
- Remove dust, debris, garbage, and leftover items as necessary
- Wipe down all surfaces including counters, sinks, mirrors, doors, baseboards, and frequently touched areas
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors
- Clean inside appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers
- Identify any additional cleaning needs, junk removal, repairs, maintenance, or follow-up actions
- Capture clear before-and-after photos and videos documenting completed work
- Provide professional updates including notes, photos, and videos after each visit
- Communicate courteously with landlords, applicants, tenants (where relevant), and internal team members
- Follow detailed company instructions, cleaning checklists, access guidelines, and appointment specifics

Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in residential cleaning, housekeeping, cleaning contracting, or related roles
- Strong understanding of residential cleaning standards
- Reliable transportation for traveling to properties
- Possession of necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for appointments
- Ability to attend appointments independently
- Own an iPhone 13 or equivalent smartphone with a high-quality camera
- Confident in taking clear photos and videos of properties and completed work
- Ability to write clear, detailed notes and submit visit updates
- Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision
- Professional, punctual, dependable, and meticulous
- Able to follow checklists, instructions, and property access details precisely
- Effective and respectful communication with landlords, applicants, tenants (if applicable), and team members
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience specifically with move-in, move-out, or rental turnover cleaning
- Familiarity with preparing rental properties for photos, inspections, or showings
- Ability to recognize damages, maintenance issues, need for junk removal, pest problems, access challenges, or unsafe conditions
- Experience working independently in the field for property management, leasing, cleaning, or home services companies
