Role overview
Based in Preston, this full-time Cleaner position sits within Serco’s Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC). The role focuses on keeping accommodation properties clean, safe and ready for people seeking asylum, helping create a welcoming environment for residents and supporting the wider aim of delivering better outcomes for vulnerable individuals and families.
Working as part of a values-led team, you will contribute to maintaining high standards across the homes and communal spaces managed under the AASC contract. Your work will have a direct impact on residents’ comfort, safety and wellbeing.
Working pattern and pay
The salary for this role is £27,300 per year, and it includes a company van. A valid driving licence is essential. The role offers excellent benefits as well. Working hours are 37.5 per week, with flexibility between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Key duties
- Carry out cleaning in dispersed accommodation homes and shared areas to the required standard.
- Drive between locations in a company vehicle to complete scheduled cleaning work.
- Make sure each property is hygienic, safe and suitable for occupation when needed.
- Flag any maintenance problems or property-related issues noticed during visits.
- Follow all health, safety and safe working rules throughout the day.
- Maintain a high level of pride in creating spaces that feel comfortable and supportive for residents.
What you need
Applicants should have prior experience cleaning domestic properties or similar environments, along with a full UK driving licence. The role also calls for someone who can work on their own initiative, manage their workload effectively, communicate clearly and use basic IT systems. A dependable, proactive attitude and a commitment to high standards are important. Experience in cleaning larger households or shared living settings would be beneficial.
