Role Overview
Novamed is hiring a careful and reliable Central Processing Technician for a busy orthopedic surgery center with four operating rooms in Round Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada. The center works closely with The Orthopedic Partners, Intermountain Health, and Surgery Partners to support high-quality patient care.
This position is suited to someone who values patient safety and can perform well in a fast-moving clinical environment. The role offers hourly pay in the range of $24 to $28 per hour, depending on experience, along with eligibility for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
Key Duties
- Clean, disassemble, put together, inspect, wrap, and sterilize surgical tools and instrument sets.
- Run and oversee sterilization systems such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Keep records and paperwork aligned with AAMI and AORN requirements.
- Make sure instruments are turned over accurately and on time for scheduled procedures.
- Track inventory levels and alert leadership when supplies or equipment need attention.
- Work closely with operating room staff to support surgery schedules and clinical needs.
- Follow a rotating schedule between 6:00 AM and 8:30 PM.
Qualifications
- A CRCST certification, or an equivalent credential, is mandatory.
- Prior sterile processing experience is preferred, especially in orthopedic or ambulatory surgery environments.
- A solid understanding of sterilization practices and infection prevention standards is required.
- Strong attention to detail, along with good communication and organizational abilities, is important.
- The ideal candidate should be flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working in a busy setting.
