Role Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals for full-time, part-time, and casual positions as Butchery Team Members. In this role, you will assist skilled butchers with the preparation, packaging, and presentation of a variety of fresh meat and poultry products. Maintaining clean and appealing displays, following safety procedures, and offering friendly customer service at the counter are key aspects of the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing value-added meat products and wrapping and packing meat accurately.
• Ensure meat displays are well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing.
• Handle products following food safety and company regulations.
• Provide courteous assistance to customers with their meat and poultry requests.

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant experience in meat wrapping and packaging.
• Skills in preparing enhanced meat items and value-added products.
• Strong communication skills with a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
• Enjoy working with food and interacting positively with colleagues and customers.
• Demonstrated energy, initiative, and willingness to follow and provide direction.
• Ability to adhere to company policies and food safety standards.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and comfortably perform manual handling such as bending, lifting, and moving heavy products.
• Availability to work daytime shifts at least 3-4 days weekly, including every second weekend, with roster flexibility to accommodate both personal and business needs.

Compensation and Conditions

Remuneration is according to the General Retail Industry Award 2026-2027 rates for Level 1 adults:

• Full time & part time weekdays: $27.81 per hour
• Full time & part time Saturdays: $34.76 per hour
• Full time & part time Sundays: $41.72 per hour
• Casual weekdays: $34.76 per hour
• Casual Saturdays: $41.72 per hour
• Casual Sundays: $48.67 per hour

Additional penalty rates are applicable for public holidays and certain overtime or early morning hours.
