Job description
Opportunity Overview
This role requires an engineer to actively participate in Global Product Support (GPS) activities focusing on high voltage switchgear products. The individual will leverage strong engineering fundamentals, particularly in managing product life cycles, to maintain and update critical product data such as drawings, design bills of materials, technical instructions, variants, and decision tables. All data must be accurately maintained within the high voltage product lifecycle management system, following established change management protocols to ensure data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update product master data and detailed product design information.
- Adhere to and execute GPS processes and use the related tools, meeting set key performance indicators and recommending ongoing improvements.
- Serve as a liaison by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth coordination and communication.
- Facilitate information sharing and collaboration across different products and platforms.
- Work alongside GPS resource managers to optimize efficiency, accelerate processes, and foster knowledge transfer within the team.
- Drive initiatives towards product and platform standardization to reduce complexity and associated costs.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Embody Hitachi Energy’s core principles of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for personal actions while supporting colleagues and company interests.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of overall experience, preferably with product support exposure.
- Strong technical expertise including hands-on experience with ProE software, especially in configuring variants.
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and adhere to budget constraints.
- An understanding of international standards and testing protocols is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- A commitment to safety, integrity, ownership, accountability, collaboration, and trustworthiness.
