Role Summary
This position is part of Atos specialized business development division charged with generating new opportunities early in the sales cycle. The Business Development Executive is accountable for sourcing high-quality sales leads, particularly within the Canadian public sector, focusing on cloud, AI, cybersecurity, and digital transformation domains. The role emphasizes opportunity identification and pipeline building rather than deal closure, perfect for professionals who excel at initiating engagement and creating growth momentum.
Key Duties
- Utilize diverse lead generation tactics and a strong network among Canadian public sector technology and business leaders to initiate executive-level dialogues and uncover new prospects.
- Identify and engage with decision-makers such as CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and digital transformation executives.
- Continuously track the market for buying signals linked to AI, cybersecurity, cloud modernization, digital transformation, and data analytics projects.
- Design precise outreach plans to attract prospects and broaden Atos influence within pivotal public sector accounts.
- Conduct initial discovery discussions to grasp client priorities, issues, and transformation programs.
- Evaluate opportunity potential rigorously based on criteria like stakeholder consensus, business demand, urgency, funding, and strategic compatibility.
- Deliver a strong, sales-approved pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Collaborate extensively with sales leaders, industry experts, alliance partners, and subject matter authorities to verify and expedite opportunity advancement.
- Offer market insights and customer intelligence to support overall business growth strategies.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of opportunity data and activities within CRM platforms.
- Participate in routine pipeline reviews, articulating qualification justifications and outlining next steps.
- Concentrate on pipeline quality and conversion prospects, prioritizing potential over sheer activity volume.
Candidate Profile
- Proven record in business development, executive engagement, or strategic opportunity generation in enterprise technology or consulting sectors.
- Established connections with senior public sector technology leaders and decision-makers throughout Canada.
- Expertise in initiating executive-level discussions and fostering meaningful business relationships.
- Strong familiarity with technology procurement processes involving AI, cybersecurity, cloud, data analytics, and digital transformation.
- Experience in qualifying complex sales opportunities and smoothly transitioning them to sales and delivery teams.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Highly driven, resilient, and adapted to working in goal-oriented environments.
- Disciplined approach to prioritizing high-value opportunities and tactfully disengaging from improbable pursuits.
