Job description
Role Overview
The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional personalized service to guests during breakfast hours while managing and maintaining the breakfast buffet in accordance with brand standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, offer assistance, and ensure a hospitable environment.
- Set up and uphold the breakfast buffet including hot and cold food items, prepared fresh as per menu guidelines.
- Prepare various food items such as fresh fruits, breads, pastries, batters, and coffee beverages.
- Maintain stock levels of coffee, juices, milk, and other buffet supplies, restocking consistently during service hours and preparing for the following day.
- Arrange serving dishes, utensils, cups, and paper products appropriately.
- Monitor and replenish buffet items as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness of the breakfast area continuously, including clearing and sanitizing tables and chairs upon guest departure.
- Clean buffet counters, empty trash bins, wash serving equipment, and store reusable supplies correctly.
- Complete daily cleaning tasks based on established cleaning schedules.
- Follow proper service procedures, thanking guests and inviting them to return.
- Communicate any guest complaints promptly to management for immediate resolution.
- Assist the General Manager in ordering or purchasing food supplies and checking inventory levels.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety standards and guidelines.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- High school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
- Possession of a provincial Serve Safe certificate is preferred; training can be provided upon hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write effectively.
- Strong active listening skills to understand and meet guest needs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Availability to work morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding guest service and exceeding expectations.
