Role overview
This position sits within event management and supports the smooth delivery of audiovisual services across banquet and meeting spaces in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The role is non-management and requires hands-on handling of AV, projection, lighting, and conferencing systems to keep event setups running reliably.
Key duties
- Prepare, run, and resolve issues with audio-visual, projection, lighting, and conference equipment and systems.
- Manage AV setup in banquet halls and meeting venues.
- Confirm that all equipment is functioning correctly; clean or repair items when needed.
- Tag damaged equipment and escalate issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
- Secure loose cables by taping and arranging them neatly.
- Verify delivered equipment and room arrangements against the Banquet Event Order.
- Report any changes, additions, or removals in flowsheets to the supervisor or manager.
- Guide guests and customers on correct AV usage and operation.
- Promote and upsell suitable AV service options when appropriate.
- Monitor equipment during events at regular intervals.
- Pack down, remove, and store AV equipment when it is no longer required.
- Follow the Marriott Visual Productions SOP guidelines and standards.

Strong teamwork, clear communication, and consistent quality standards are part of the role. The work also involves physical activity, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, placing, and reaching objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as visually checking tools and equipment. Other reasonable duties may be assigned by supervisors.
Preferred background
A high school diploma or GED-equivalent is preferred. At least 1 year of relevant work experience is required. No supervisory background or special license/certification is needed.
