Role Summary
The studio is hiring an Associate Interior Designer to join its expanding team. This position suits someone who is detail-focused, design-minded, and excited to contribute creatively while developing within a residential boutique environment. Working alongside the Principal Designer, the Associate Designer will help move projects from early concept through final installation.
What You’ll Do
This on-site, full-time role in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex supports the design workflow for residential projects in both creative and operational ways. The position includes helping with concept development, space planning, and interior finish selection; preparing drawings and client-facing presentations; and assisting with FF&E sourcing and specifications.
You will also work closely with vendors, consultants, and project partners, keeping project records accurate and well organized. The role includes site visits, measuring and documenting existing conditions, and coordinating with architects, builders, and craftspeople so the design intent is carried out accurately. In addition, you will support client communication, design reviews, and tracking of timelines and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide projects from the first concept through final installation to ensure a smooth and unified result
- Serve as a key coordination link between clients, vendors, trades, and consultants
- Create and present clear, polished design concepts and client presentation materials
- Prepare furniture plans, elevations, and construction drawings in AutoCAD
- Handle several projects at once while keeping schedules and momentum on track
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design from an accredited institution
- 4 to 6 years of experience in residential interior design
- Strong advanced-level skills in AutoCAD
- Practical working knowledge of Studio Designer and SketchUp
- Independent, self-directed approach with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Proven ability to manage work independently, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and follow through
- Strong sensitivity to scale, color, pattern, and detail
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Well organized with solid time-management ability
