Overview
The Associate - HR Compliance role involves ensuring organizational adherence to labor laws and employment regulations within the Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) region. This position plays a crucial role in interpreting legal requirements, conducting compliance audits, and providing advisory support to internal stakeholders to maintain statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay informed about the latest employment laws, labor regulations, and compliance obligations applicable in the APJ region, evaluating their effects on company practices.
- Analyze changes in regulations and counsel internal teams to ensure consistent compliance across employee lifecycle management and statutory processes.
- Lead the implementation of amendments and notifications related to labor and employment law at the organizational level.
- Identify operational and regulatory risks continuously, develop clear mitigation strategies, track progress, and ensure execution.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk evaluations to uncover gaps and enforce corrective measures to reduce risk exposure.
- Maintain comprehensive records and reports concerning compliance activities, audit results, and findings.
- Assist in organizing and delivering training programs aimed at boosting awareness about compliance requirements among HR and business units.
- Create compliance training materials and facilitate workshops addressing employment regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with corporate, legal, and HR teams to align employment policies with regulatory standards.
- Offer advisory services on issues related to hiring, terminations, workplace policies, and employee relations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience of 4 to 7 years in HR with a minimum of 2 to 4 years focusing on HR compliance or related areas.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations specifically covering the APJ region.
- Capability to interpret intricate labor laws and translate them into practical guidance; adept in legal research.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and presentation, with effective stakeholder management abilities.
- Educational background including an LLB degree and a Master's degree in Human Resources (MBA).
- Preferred certifications include HR compliance, audit, or ISO standards related to compliance.
