Role Overview
As the Associate Director of Creative Video within Scorpion's Studios team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming client brands into captivating stories through video. You will oversee commercial video productions from initial concept through final delivery, assisting small and mid-sized businesses in connecting with their audiences to generate impactful results.
This role is highly client-facing and often represents the first direct encounter clients have with Scorpion. Your ability to combine creative insight, production expertise, and relationship-building skills will be vital in ensuring excellent client experiences and delivering videos that resonate and motivate action.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in creative direction for commercial video projects, ensuring alignment with clients’ brand identity, marketing goals, and strategy.
- Collaborate closely with Account Managers and internal teams to grasp client objectives and guarantee a smooth production journey from discovery to delivery.
- Conduct virtual meetings with clients to present creative concepts, collect feedback, and develop detailed creative briefs.
- Organize and manage all pre-production aspects including creative planning, logistics, scheduling, and shoot prep.
- Direct on-location video shoots, guiding crew members, interviewing talent, and capturing compelling footage.
- Establish trust and ease with clients and interviewees to elicit authentic stories on camera.
- Maintain creative oversight throughout post-production to ensure the end product aligns with the approved vision and client expectations.
- Drive continuous enhancement of production workflows, creative benchmarks, and operational procedures within the Studios team.
- Stay informed on emerging video production trends, technologies, and techniques that can elevate video quality and effectiveness.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least six years’ experience in professional video production, ideally within agency, commercial production, or marketing sectors.
- Proven experience managing client-facing commercial video projects from conceptualization to completion.
- Skilled in directing interviews and working effectively with non-professional on-camera talent.
- A portfolio or demo reel demonstrating commercial, branded, or marketing-centered video projects is mandatory.
- Expertise in visual storytelling, brand marketing, and commercial video production.
- Exceptional communication and client relationship skills, with confidence in leading discussions and fostering client trust throughout production.
- Ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects efficiently in dynamic, fast-moving settings.
- Practical experience operating professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment on set.
- Strong creative decision-making and problem-solving aptitude, with adaptability during shoots.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and production management tools suitable for handling creative briefs, timelines, and documentation.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to boost creative idea generation, planning, or streamline production workflows.
- Preferred experience using video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve for collaboration with post-production teams.
Travel and Work Schedule
- Frequent travel to client sites and production locations within the assigned region is expected, approximately 50-70%, with occasional travel beyond the region as needed.
- Production days might require extended work hours up to 10 hours to facilitate client shoots and on-location filming.

Compensation Details
- Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $130,000 annually depending on experience, location, skills, and education.
- Salary offers consider internal equity and future growth potential.
- Additional incentive compensation opportunities may be available through discretionary bonuses or commissions.
