Job Overview

The Global Manufacturing and Quality Learning & Development (GMQLD) team provides tailored learning programs to empower Lilly's Manufacturing and Quality sectors to prioritize safety and quality in medicine production. The Learning Architect position focuses on developing and maintaining educational content for an entire manufacturing platform, predominantly addressing platform-wide needs while also accommodating site-specific requirements. This role is located at the Kinsale manufacturing site in Ireland and involves ensuring compliance with the Center of Excellence (COE) standards and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop platform-wide training materials adhering to COE governance and global quality standards.
• Address approximately 90% platform-level curriculum and 10% site-specific training needs, collaborating closely with the M2/P4 Platform Lead.
• Work directly with site subject matter experts (SMEs) to keep training content current and reflective of actual manufacturing processes.
• Implement process-based curriculum principles by organizing education content around manufacturing processes and specific task qualifications.
• Ensure curricula align with the three-tier content framework spanning global, platform, and site levels.
• Maintain content quality through adherence to COE governance and compliance requirements.
• Identify training gaps and escalate unresolved needs to Platform Leads and COE for solution development.
• Utilize existing global content from COE as a foundation for platform-specific educational materials.
• Support decision-making for learning equivalency, exceptions, and substitutions in accordance with quality system standards.
• Collaborate strategically with Platform Leads and COE to align learning and development efforts with business priorities and governance.
• Engage with Learning Execution Partners (LEPs) to customize and optimize site-level training implementations.
• Represent the platform in cross-functional meetings, audits, and governance evaluations.
• Promote continuous improvement by analyzing data to enhance curriculum effectiveness and qualification processes.
• Contribute to initiatives that reduce time to qualification by identifying redundancies and training bottlenecks.
• Drive standardization of on-the-job training (OJT) practices across platform sites.

Qualifications and Experience

• Graduate degree or at least ten years of comparable relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of five years working within a GxP-regulated environment.
• Experience and expertise in Learning & Development, instructional design, or Manufacturing/Quality operations.
• Proficient in curriculum development, application of learning management systems, and GMP training compliance.
• Strong understanding of GxP frameworks, GMP, regulatory rules, and compliance training requirements.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Extensive understanding of platform-specific manufacturing processes such as Pre-Filled Syringes (PFS), Cartridge, DAP/EM, Chemical, and Biologics.
• Familiarity with process-based or competency-based curriculum design architectures.
• Capability to coordinate across multiple locations and time zones.
• Proven collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams including Quality, Operations, and Engineering.
• Experience utilizing digital learning platforms, digital/on-the-job training standardizations.
• Comfortable with human resource and learning management software like Workday or SuccessFactors.

Additional Details

• Role is based on-site at the Kinsale manufacturing facility in Ireland.
• Up to 10% travel required.
• Position is primarily site-based; remote work is not supported.
• The Learning Architect serves the broader platform with approximately 90% dedicated to platform-level responsibilities and 10% to site-specific tasks.
