Role Overview
As an Associate Accountant at Talenversity, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with Canadian taxation laws. Your responsibilities span across bookkeeping accuracy, tax return preparation, and financial statement compilation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of bookkeeping data entries to uphold financial integrity.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of the general ledger to maintain precise financial data.
- Prepare Canadian tax filings including T1 personal and T2 corporate tax returns.
- Issue T4 remuneration slips for employees, outlining income and deductions.
- Compile comprehensive financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Execute year-end adjusting journal entries to ensure accurate financial results.
- Correlate trial balance figures with Excel-based working papers and related documentation.
- Prepare GST/HST tax returns in accordance with legal requirements.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with internal staff, team leads, and management for efficient financial operations.
Qualifications
- Degree in B.Com specializing in Applied Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Taxation.
