Job Overview
The Assistant Store Supervisor will support the growth and operations of talabat's proprietary grocery concept, tMart, a cloud store offering rapid 30-minute grocery delivery at hypermarket prices across multiple MENA countries. This role involves managing daily store operations during shifts and assisting the Store Supervisor in various functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage store operations throughout the shift, including staff supervision, ordering, inbound receiving, stocking, and order pick and pack.
- Assist Store Supervisor with employee selection, shift scheduling, and routine/preventive maintenance activities.
- Support inventory and store replenishment by ensuring proper stock levels to avoid out-of-stock or overstock situations, assessing inventory alongside demand planners, and conducting physical stock checks.
- Maintain effective stock control practices and conduct stock takes and cycle counts according to schedule.
- Ensure accurate receiving of inbound orders adhering to policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Oversee efficient picking and packing of customer orders during the shift as per SOPs.
- Monitor fulfillment processes, suggest productivity and profitability enhancements.
- Help enforce measures to reduce store-related shrinkage.
- Supervise hygiene, sanitation, security, safety standards, and service level adherence, ensuring excellent customer service internally and externally during the shift.
- Communicate challenges and propose solutions to the Store Supervisor.
Candidate Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in supermarket or restaurant environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new challenges.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with various tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and intercultural abilities.
- Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is highly favorable.
