About Al Zorah and the Golf & Yacht Club
Located along the Ajman coastline, Al Zorah is a unique lifestyle destination featuring protected mangroves, pristine beaches, and natural lagoons. It includes residential areas, leisure amenities, and hospitality services like the Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club. This club is a modern golf and lifestyle venue set amidst a championship golf course, where the Clubhouse Restaurant offers relaxed dining for golfers, members, residents, and event guests.
Role Overview
We seek a vibrant and attentive Assistant Server to aid in the daily functions of the Clubhouse Restaurant. The ideal candidate will be organized, observant, and comfortable working in a bustling service setting. Your main duties will include preparing tables, serving food and drinks, clearing tables efficiently, and maintaining cleanliness in service areas. Quick responsiveness and a positive attitude towards guest experience are essential traits.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Servers by providing quick and attentive food and beverage service.
- Prepare tables and service stations prior to shifts, ensuring setups include clean cutlery, glassware, crockery, menus, and condiments.
- Deliver meals and drinks correctly by confirming table numbers and order specifics.
- Help serve bread, water, and condiments alongside food items.
- Promptly clear used dishes, glasses, and utensils and reset tables for new guests.
- Replenish napkins, condiments, and supplies at service points.
- Maintain cleanliness and order across the restaurant floor and service zones.
- Relay guest requests swiftly to the assigned Server.
- Support the team during peak service times and assist with buffet and event setups and clearings.
- Participate in opening and closing procedures, and shift handovers.
- Handle restaurant equipment carefully and report any damage or shortages.
- Coordinate effectively with Culinary, Stewarding, and Bar departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Understand the restaurant layout, table numbers, and basic menu items.
- Adhere to food hygiene standards, HACCP policies, fire safety, and health regulations.
- Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance.
- Attend department briefings, meetings, and training as required.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Server, F&B Supervisor, Outlet Manager, or F&B Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous work experience in restaurants, cafés, clubhouses, or hospitality settings is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service processes.
- Eager to learn and grow within the restaurant environment.
- Ability to work effectively and follow instructions carefully.
- Strong attention to table presentation details.
- Clear English verbal communication skills.
- Good team collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to remain active and attentive for entire shifts.
- Professional demeanor and personal grooming standards.
- Physical ability to carry trays and handle restaurant equipment safely.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
