Overview
The Assistant Manager in Revenue Management plays a crucial role in formulating and executing revenue strategies and controls across designated routes and markets. This position focuses on optimizing inventory control, forecasting demand, and maximizing revenue while maintaining market competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and segment customer demand by evaluating market conditions.
- Maximize route revenue by fine-tuning inventory controls and managing overbooking practices.
- Collaborate with the Pricing Team to find tactical pricing opportunities to attract incrementally more traffic.
- Leverage demand forecasts and inventory adjustments to enhance revenue without substantially impacting market share.
- Continuously compare and adjust pricing strategy relative to competitors.
- Promote adoption of industry best practices and upgrades to revenue management systems.
- Engage with pricing teams, overseas managers, and market contacts to identify revenue opportunities and implement proactive revenue management initiatives.
- Conduct post-departure performance analysis focusing on no-shows, cancellations, and shifts in demand to validate strategy effectiveness.
- Lead the creation of annual revenue budgets and monthly targets for assigned routes, including ongoing monthly forecast revisions.
- Ensure the timely setup and maintenance of system parameters and strategic settings.
- Manage team workload, monitor quality and progress, and seek opportunities for personnel development.
- Provide consistent, constructive, and actionable feedback to support team growth and innovation.
- Encourage individual and team-driven innovation and creativity.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a degree in a numerically focused discipline.
- Energetic and enthusiastic with a strong proactive, can-do mindset.
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience in revenue management or a similar function, preferably with some leadership experience.
- Strong numerical aptitude coupled with analytical and commercial acumen.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of revenue management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting effectively at all organizational levels.
- Capability to oversee broader objectives while managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Adept at building and sustaining effective internal and external networks.
