Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee mechanical operations including HVAC, piping, firefighting, and utility system installations.
- Ensure all works conform to approved General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), layouts, and project specifications.
- Collaborate closely with Civil, Electrical, and other MEP teams to achieve coordinated, clash-free execution.
- Identify and resolve interface conflicts between mechanical and civil disciplines.
- Execute firefighting system installations such as hydrants, sprinklers, and related equipment packages.
- Direct first fix and second fix mechanical execution activities.
- Manage installation and coordination of shared/common services racks.
- Review GA drawings to pinpoint discrepancies and areas needing improved coordination.
- Conduct site coordination meetings involving departments and vendors regularly.
- Supervise contractors ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards.
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily and weekly progress reports (DPR/WPR).
- Lead installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Maintain compliance with QA/QC protocols, ISO standards, and safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTW).
- Coordinate with vendors such as L&T and other EPC contractors effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant experience ranging from 5 to 10 years in mechanical construction and execution projects.
- Specific expertise in HVAC, piping, and firefighting system knowledge is essential.
- Proven experience handling MEP and civil coordination including interface management.
- Hands-on knowledge of first fix / second fix execution and services rack installation.
- Familiarity with pipe laying across various materials such as MS, SS, PPH, PVDF, HDPE, and uPVC.
- Understanding of utilities linked to mechanical systems, including AHU, MAU, RCU, chilled water systems, centrifugal chillers, compressed air systems (CDA), PCW, heat exchangers, cooling towers, UPW, and WWTP.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies
- Strong proficiency reading and interpreting GA drawings, P&IDs, and layouts.
- Knowledge of ISO management systems standards 9001, 14001, and 45001 related to mechanical work.
- Excellent coordination, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaborative teamwork skills.
Additional Information
- Experience working with reputed EPC vendors including L&T is advantageous.
- Exposure to installation, testing, and commissioning phases of mechanical systems.
