About ENTEK and the Role

Join ENTEK Manufacturing LLC in Henderson, Nevada, as an Assistant Controller. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced accounting professionals passionate about partnering with operational teams, enhancing financial performance, and supporting strategic initiatives within a manufacturing setting. As a vital finance leader, you will oversee manufacturing accounting, financial and project reporting, cost accounting, internal controls, and drive continuous process improvements. Collaboration with multiple departments including Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Project Management, and top leadership will be essential to provide the financial insights necessary for operational excellence and profitable growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, estimates, and management-level reporting.
  • Oversee detailed manufacturing accounting functions such as standard costing, inventory valuation, labor and overhead absorption, production variance analysis, scrap, yield tracking, and inventory reserves.
  • Manage project accounting from contract initiation through closeout, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability evaluation, and change order accounting.
  • Administer revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion methods according to ASC 606 guidelines.
  • Analyze key manufacturing metrics like labor efficiency, material utilization, purchase price variances, inventory turnover, gross margins, and overall operational performance.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to enhance plant profitability and support decisions on capital investments.
  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and operational analyses to facilitate business planning efforts.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls while supporting yearly external audit processes.
  • Lead ERP system optimization, automation, and continuous improvements in financial processes.
  • Support software rollouts and other improvement projects throughout the Finance department.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach accounting team members fostering a culture emphasizing accountability and ongoing enhancement.
  • Partner with executive leadership to deliver financial insights aiding strategic decision-making.
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships across departments including Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Project Management, and FP&A.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Proficient in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and standard costing methodologies.
  • Experienced in project accounting and percentage-of-completion revenue accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent systems.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Preferred Credentials:

  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • CMA certification advantageous.
  • Experience with Power BI or comparable business intelligence tools.
  • Background leading ERP implementations and financial process improvements.
  • Proven track record mentoring and developing accounting professionals.
  • Strong operational finance knowledge related to manufacturing processes.

Work Schedule and Environment

This is a full-time exempt position based in Henderson, Nevada, working Monday through Friday. The role primarily involves office work but includes regular interaction across ENTEK’s manufacturing operations and occasional presence on the production floor to support operational projects.
