Role Summary

The Applications Architect is pivotal in designing, implementing, and enhancing the company's application frameworks to satisfy present and future business demands. This role requires evaluating current architectures, defining target architectures based on industry standards, and leading transformation initiatives to advance the application ecosystem strategically. Close collaboration with stakeholders ensures solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives, while governance and integration of new technologies are carefully overseen.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing application infrastructures to identify areas for optimization and alignment with strategic goals.
• Create detailed target application architecture blueprints, specifying system components, technology stacks, and interconnections for current and future needs.
• Conduct gap analyses and develop phased IT transformation roadmaps outlining steps to evolve the application architecture effectively.
• Lead the drafting of comprehensive Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that detail both technical and business necessities aligned with target architecture.
• Evaluate and recommend IT vendors and solutions considering compatibility, scalability, reputation, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support architecture governance to ensure designs comply with organizational principles, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assess proposed changes to applications, advising on alignment with architecture, feasibility, and associated risks.
• Engage with business and IT stakeholders to provide technical guidance and ensure seamless technology integration.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry practices to advocate continual improvement and innovative solutions enhancing performance and user experience.
• Document architecture designs, decisions, and standards clearly and share knowledge with development teams to ensure adherence to architectural vision.

Qualifications and Skills

• Expertise in creating and updating Target Application Architectures driven by business priorities.
• Strong knowledge of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and SOA.
• Ability to ensure alignment between application architecture and organizational objectives, collaborating with domain architects.
• Experience implementing architectural conformance and governance mechanisms.
• Awareness of technological advancements and their integration into target architectures.
• Proven ability to guide project teams to deliver initiatives aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and Integration Architecture vision.
• Capable of measuring and improving organizational integration maturity levels.
• Skilled in conducting enterprise architecture reviews and prioritizing solutions for integration gaps.
• Supportive of governance and change management processes related to enterprise architecture.
• Fluent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
